Growing Faith

This is in the prayerful design stages at the moment, but we hope to have our small groups up and running soon, and you are formally invited to join us.  The Bible tells us that ‘faith gives us the confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we don’t yet see’ (Hebrews 11.1).

So, watch this space for more information or register your interest by emailing Morag on mgarrett@churchofscotland.org.uk

Grow in Grace – Bible Study
Consider this, a person does not believe without being willing to believe (Charles Spurgeon).

In the Bible we are told to ‘grow in grace and knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ’ (2 Peter 3.18), and one way to do this, the most significant way, is to learn from God’s Word – the Bible.

Bible Study is an important part of life for everyone. Many have much to say about the Bible in one way or another, some of it negative, and yet according to the Guinness World Records (1995) there is little doubt that the Bible remains the highest selling book of all time, with an estimated 5 billion copies sold.

This book therefore, surely, deserves to be taken seriously and read to ensure our understanding of God is based on His self-revelation of who He is, what His ways are and what He says to us, His people and not merely based on what others say. For many of us, the Bible remains unread, which may make it seem irrelevant, however, once we find the richness of God’s self-disclosure, His wisdom for living and His promises of blessing it all of a sudden becomes significant and relevant to us today.

Our Bible Study Group is based on biblical principles, providing information that is relevant to every-day life that it might help us practically. God intended His word to be our instruction manual, as the kids in Sunday School used to say B.I.B.L.E. stands for Basic. Instructions. Before. Leaving. Earth.

You will be made welcome to the Bible Study by others who are also spiritual seekers on a journey of faith, you can join in the discussions or simply sit and listen, so know you are welcome to come along and participate in a way that makes you feel comfortable.
